Sunday was an EIGHT Green Arrow Day.

Halfway There to Herd Immunity?

Good Morning,

Sunday was an EIGHT Green Arrow Day; below are the particulars.

As of March 31, 2021, we administered our 159.2 millionth dose in the US, of which 54.6 million had completed their vaccination regime. The two most prevalent brands (Moderna & Pfizer) require two amounts, while Johnson & Johnson’s only one has just entered the distribution channel. J&J’s total reached 3.31 million.

The combination of the 54.6 million-plus the recorded (30.7 million) and unrecorded (73.9 million) recovers make our Herd Immunity Factor (HIF) now 159.2 million or 48% of our population. Almost half of our citizens are safe.

We had expected that we would half of our country in the safe category; our estimate was close. We suppose that when we cross the 50% threshold, we will begin to see a precipitous drop in new cases. Spring break may delay that drop because of the concentration of people gathering and generally using a form of public transportation to get there.

However, the virus is less dangerous because those most vulnerable to a severe case have completed their respective regimes. States, generally, rationed the initial doses to the elderly, healthcare workers, and those with significant underlying conditions.
