Edging Closer to Herd Immunity

Sunday was a NINE Green Arrow Day; below are the particulars.

In the USA, we have now administered almost 210 million doses as of March 18, 2021. Of which, over 84 million have completed their entire regime. The vaccine distribution continues to expand (more outlets), and the restrictions of access such as age have been lifted. More than 25% of our citizens have completed their dose regime.

The combination of the 84.3 million-plus the recorded (32.1 million) and unrecorded (73.9 million) recovers make our Herd Immunity Factor (HIF) now 190.2 million or 57% of our population. More than half of our citizens are safe.

One astute reader asked us why there are still so many new cases. The answer may be as simple: there are still 142 million Americans who have yet to either have the entire regime of vaccinations or the virus to create the necessary antibodies. Last week the Open Net Cases (those with the virus and yet to be recovered) increased by less than 28,000, translating to a relatively stable level from week to week.

There are now 50 million people that have had just one vaccination waiting for their second shot. That means in less than a month; there will be another 50 million people becoming safe. By mid-May, there will be about 250 million or 75% of our population as part of our Herd Immunity Factor.

We don’t foresee an acceleration of new cases.
