Good Morning and Happy Easter:
Yesterday Saturday April 11, 2020 was a FIVE green arrow day! First time…Hurray!
All of the metrics were pointed in the right direction. Including, the new case rate of 6% for the US and less than 5% for greater NYC. Not so long ago we were in the twenty plus percent increases.
One of the “targets” (see word document attached) we identified as key to turning the corner, flattening the curve, etc. was five consecutive days of a declining new case rate. Yesterday we achieved that milestone.
Most would agree that “social distancing,” citizen and healthcare system awareness are attributable to this progress.
Are we at the levels to begin to have more precise precautions or do we still need blanket precautions? For example, Michigan has intensified their social distancing requirements. Yet, COVID 19 is almost all centered in greater Detroit. Should Kalamazoo be under the same restrictions as Detroit?
Enjoy these holidays with your friends and family…provide no more than ten are gathered.
PS: We get comments on a daily basis. The most common is that this report should be able to be viewed by more, even on TV. On the technical side several astute readers have commented on the poor visibility on recoveries and those showing little or no symptoms.
