Another Precipitous Drop…What Did We Learn?
Good Morning,
The “New Case” graph (below) shows another significant drop in new cases. This is good news, especially since there isn’t news of another variant. Perhaps even better is this drop has happened with less emphasis on wearing masks and being isolated. Yes, there are still those that wear a mask whether required or not, and some quarantining, but best we can tell, it is a lower level of usage as during the initial Covid 19 outbreak.
Let’s assume for a moment that Covid and the related variants are on the wane. What did we learn? Is it possible for countries to develop a public policy on; How to best handle the next pandemic? Will the FDA create policies to fast-track vaccines automatically? Will we develop some system or process that has graduated levels of warnings, recommendations, and necessary actions? Perhaps similar to our TSA warning levels.
We have in the past shown a ranking for individuals based on health risk (i.e. red, orange, yellow, yellow-green, and green) using prescription drug use as an objective measuring tool. We might be able to do that for our society. For example, yellow-green; masks are recommended for crowded places whereas orange would be significantly more stringent.
If we had a sound approach to what each of us ought to do, we think we would be in a better place.
