Yesterday was a SIX Green Arrow Day.
Within Our Grasp
Yesterday was a SIX Green Arrow day. We see an uptick in new cases at the rates we observed in mid-May. The increase is entirely geographic-specific rather than universal, as in the case of our “hot spot,” greater NYC, which rate fell to 0.14%. Fatalities continue their improved trend with less than 400 reported yesterday compared to twice that number just a few weeks ago.
We’ve noted before that about 100 years ago, we fought and battled through the Spanish Flu. Back then, quarantining and face masks were the operative choice to fight that pandemic. Today we are far more advanced in medicine, information, communication, and many other capabilities.
COVID 19 is not beyond the capabilities of humanity to defeat; on the contrary, we can and will. We have performed a significant amount of analytical work and do have a three-point strategy.
1. Protect the small percentage of the high-risk population.
2. Isolate those geographies and places of potential contamination.
3. Get healthy, strengthen individual immune systems.
Over the next several days, we will highlight each point and show why these three focused strategies are far better than viewing the virus as a universal risk. Broad-based restrictions have limits and become less effective over time.
