Yesterday was a SIX Green Arrow Day.
Good Morning:
The week ended May 2nd, continued the general and gradual trend of COVID 19 subsiding. In comparing this week ending to March 25th, the following observations were made.
1) Six out of the past seven days the new case growth rate was below 3%.
2) Fatalities decreased by 1,538.
3) There were 94,803 more tests performed and 16,605 less positive tests.
4) Greater NYC had almost 13,000 less new cases.
5) Resolved cases exceeded 60% (see Theoretical Recoveries spreadsheet tab)
More states will be lifting some restrictions tomorrow, but we know of no state that is eliminating all restrictions, at least not of yet. There is an appropriate caution.
There are only five states with a COVID 19 rate of more than 800 cases per 100,000: New York (1,609), New Jersey (1,393), Massachusetts (961), Rhode Island (877) and Connecticut (821). We can see the regional component, next week we will look at what else these states have in common.
PS: The table is catching on. The other day when I finished my golf round, one of my buddies asked me how well I played. When he saw the anguish on my face, he quickly replied, “so you had a zero green arrow day!” His comment brought a smile to my face.
