Sunday was a NINE Green Arrow Day.
How Close Are We to Herd Immunity?
Good Morning,
Sunday was a NINE Green Arrow Day; below are the particulars.
In the USA, we have now administered almost 250 million doses as of May 3, 2021, 16 million more than the previous week. Of which, 141 million have completed their entire regime. The vaccine distribution continues to expand (more outlets), and the restrictions of access such as age have been lifted. Almost 43% of our citizens have completed the dose regime.
The combination of the 141.3 million-plus the recorded (22.4 million, less the elimination of duplicates) and unrecorded (73.9 million) recovers make our Herd Immunity Factor (HIF) 237.6 million or 72% of our population.
There is an essential encouraging factor; as noted above, there are 106 million Americans that have already had one shot. Meaning within four weeks from this newsletter, they will have their second dose administered. That would bring those that have all of the necessary vaccinations to almost 250 million or 75%. That, plus those with the virus and recovered, would yield just about a complete Herd Immunity factor. By the end of May, we may finally be able to say, “the coast is clear!” The graph below marked Projected Herd Immunity Factor (shaded in blue hues) shows the forecasted levels four weeks from now.
There are a few more encouraging pieces of information. First new cases dropped by 13% compared to last week and 27% from the week prior. We expect new cases to fall continually. Lastly, there are only about 500,000 Open Net Cases. Fewer people to pass the virus and an increasingly smaller population that could catch the virus.
