Yesterday was a THREE GREEN Arrow Day.

Cases Up / Fatality Rate Down

Good Morning,

Yesterday was a THREE Green Arrow Day. Below are the particulars for the day.

Yesterday we showed that the number of tests performed daily over the last couple of weeks is multiple times higher than prior periods. The impact is that we have more “reported” cases of COVID 19. Whether we have more actual cases than before is not yet known or may never be.

The good news is that fatality rates have dropped significantly since the early days. The below table shows that the number and percentage of deaths have had a precipitous drop over the last couple of months and has stabilized. Remember, in April; we were experiencing over 2,000 per day. In October, there were about 57% fewer.

The fatalities rate was as high as 6.1% in May and has now fallen to 1.6% in October. The last two full months of reporting shows virtually the same number even though the number of tests completed in October was appreciably higher than in September.

The graph covers the period from April, 2020, through October 31, 2020.

Both the rate and number of fatalities have declined since the height of the pandemic.
